Richard Warburton

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Originally from the Isle of Man, Richard’s career started out as a commercial fisherman working around the Irish Sea.

After completing a 3-year course in Marine Electronics and Communication at Wray Castle in Cumbria, Richard embarked in a successful career in the offshore ROV industry before founding MTCS (UK) Ltd in 2003.

Richard lives in Cumbria and, outside MTCS, enjoys playing guitar, fishing, cooking, walking and swimming. He is also actively involved in amateur dramatics in the South Lakes and has been known to even play the Pantomime Dame! (Oh yes he has…)

Ian Durrell

LEAD VERIFIER

Ian supports a team of 8 associate verifiers who, together, look after the verification process on the MTCS competence management programme.

Ian undertook his engineering apprenticeship in the Royal Navy more years ago than he cares to remember and, after 20 years working with the Navy, moved into the offshore sector with Global Marine Systems in the early 2000’s.

Originally from Hayling Island in Hampshire, Ian now lives in Cumbria. He is a qualified teacher and enjoys walking, usually with a small terrier at his ankles, cooking and reading.

Ann-Marie Slater

OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR

Ann-Marie works across all areas of MTCS and, with her colleagues, ensures the high standards in all areas of operations.

Ann-Marie joined MTCS in 2022 and brings a wealth of experience from a varied career that include working in the housing sector to owning and running a guest house in the English Lake District for over 15 years.

She has a wide range of interests and hobbies that include lots of walking and hiking in the Cumbrian countryside with her dog, trying to tame an overgrown neglected garden in her recently acquired cottage, and being part of a local book club.

 Judith O’Loughlin

ASSESSMENT ADMINISTRATOR

Judith (or Jude) is the Assessment Administrator within the Verification Department of MTCS having held various roles within her 18 years with the company.

Judith is originally from Cumbria (although prefers to say ‘Westmorland’, her home county before becoming part of Cumbria in 1972) and now resides in a small village in Cheshire having married and moved to be nearer her husband’s work.

When not in work Judith enjoys reading, being a member of the village book club, crafts and walking (but nothing too strenuous) and the odd holiday in sunnier climes.

Natasha Brown

CUSTOMER SERVICES LEAD

When not busy heading-up the MTCS Customer Services team, you can find Natasha renovating her house or learning a new skill – she is currently working towards a plastering qualification at her local college.

She is also busy training and will be running a trail half marathon in the Lake District in September 2025.

Natasha also enjoys growing her own fruit and vegetables in her garden, and crocheting and knitting when she has a quiet moment.

Bryony Goad

FINANCE

Bryony works in the Finance Department at MTCS alongside our amazing team having previous experience working in a number of different business sectors, but always within a financial role.

When not working, Bryony enjoys spending time in her garden propagating plants and growing her own vegetables. She has many creative hobbies including reclaiming, repairing and restoring furniture, home interior design and travelling.

Keri McAtominey

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

Keri works in Operational Support at MTCS and assists with the verification of our various competence certifications.

She is originally from South Wales and lives in Newcastle with her husband and children.

A former primary school teacher, she has many years experience within the education sector, both in London and the North of England.

She enjoys playing the guitar and is currently learning (in vain) to speak Spanish. Having signed up for the Great North Run, she has recently rediscovered her love of running.

Sarah-Louise Palfrey

CUSTOMER SUPPORT ADMINISTRATOR

Sarah is a part of the Customer Support team and when not helping customers, can normally be found with a book in her hand working on her annual reading challenge.

As a former personal trainer, she also has a passion for fitness which comes in useful for having the stamina to deal with her three children alongside her husband.

Originally from South East London, she now happily resides in a small town in Lincolnshire where she is trying her hand at growing her own vegetables as well as honing her cross-stitching crafting.
