Established in 2004, MTCS UK Ltd are unique in the field of Learning & Development in the Global Offshore Energy sector.
To support our continued growth in the offshore energy, maritime and renewables sectors, MTCS are seeking a ROV Instructor and Course Developer to join our existing team of Trainers and Assessors.
The role is suitable for personnel based in the UK and will require travel to customer locations to deliver training when required.
The instructor will be required to deliver a range of ROV related training courses including ROV Induction and ROV Awareness, High Voltage, Hydraulics and Basic Control Systems.
The role will also include the upgrade of existing courses and development of new ones as and when required.
MTCS offer a range of Online and Virtual Classroom training courses and the role also incudes an intensive program of development on instructional techniques and the IT systems associated with training delivered via online learning.
The role is suitable for someone who has:
- Significant experience in ROV operations and/or manufacture and technical activities.
- Experience of supporting the learning and development of personnel in the workplace, including assessment of competence.
- Experience of delivering/facilitating training is desirable.
LOCATION
Initially some office-based work (Windermere, the Lake District) during training, then working from home on successful completion of initial training. Travel to client training locations will also be a requirement. This is a UK-based role.

SALARY
£40,000 – £45,0000 depending on experience
Job Purpose and Scope
To deliver/upgrade and deliver ROV related training courses in the following areas:
- ROV Induction for new personnel
- ROV Technical Courses including Control Systems, Electrical Power & Distribution and Hydraulics
- ROV High Voltage Courses
- ROV Awareness Courses
- ROV Auditing Course
- To develop new courses as required by the business
Principal Accountabilities
This will include (but not restricted) to the following duties:
- Upgrading courses including presentations and associated course notes and learning materials.
- Developing new course as required.
- Delivering courses at client facilities.
- Delivering courses via MTCS Virtual Classroom
Compliance
- To comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role.
- To ensure that any systems and procedures introduced by the Company are effectively implemented and adhered to.
Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in ROV Operations and/or manufacture and technical activities
- An engineering qualification in one or more of the following:
- Electrical / Electronics
- Hydraulics
- Mechanical
- IT Networking
- Ability to interact professionally in a team environment and be comfortable with customers at all levels.
- Experience of supporting the learning and development of personnel in the workplace, including assessment of competence. Experience of training is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to learn new IT systems relating to the development and delivery of training courses.
- Ability to create a proactive learning environment, responding to the different needs of the audience.
- Exceptional organisational, time management, planning skills and prioritisation.
- Attention to detail in order to produce and maintain course material.
- Ability to approach work flexibly and methodically, and be able to work under pressure.
- Confident and has the ability to manage own workload.
- Proficient in the use of standard IT systems: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Gmail, Google Sheets, Zoom
