As you have more than likely discovered by now, there is quite a bit of paperwork involved in the Grade Assessment process.
To help you undertake your Grade Assessment, MTCS provide all the paperwork you will need for this process, including:
- Competencies – Performance Criteria
- Competencies – Underpinning Knowledge Questions
- Assessment Plan
- Assessment Feedback Form
- Assessor Sign Off Form
- Record of Witnesses Form
- Witness Statement
The most important activity for you to focus on is ensuring it is all completed by you and your Assessor to the best standard possible. This will help to keep this complex process manageable for everyone.
Remember, you are able to download all the required paperwork and guidance documents before you purchase the Grade Assessment of your choosing.
To access and download these documents:
- Login to your MTCS Online account.
- Next, in the left-hand menu, navigate to ‘Guidance Docs’.
- Then into ‘Grade Assessment (GA) Documentation’.
- Select your desired Grade Assessment.
- In the table there are the Competencies and, on the right, you have each Competencies’ Performance Criteria.
- Below the Competencies there is all the other paperwork you will need.
- To download, click the associated PDF on the right.
Please ensure you thoroughly read all of the paperwork before beginning your Assessment Plan. This will help you build a picture of what is required throughout the process.
It is important to continually review and update your Assessment Plan. Your plan will support you throughout the process, and regularly updating it will ensure you cover and complete all required criteria.
We recommend keeping all your paperwork up to date. To do this you should come back to it each day and update where necessary.
All documentation will need the Assessor’s Name in BLOCK CAPITALS and be dated.
The ‘Assessor Sign Off’ form is the most important document to ensure is filled out. Your Assessor must provide all required information, and it must then be SIGNED and dated.
Your Personal Logbook
Filling out your logbook daily, including having it signed by your Supervisor, will also ensure you keep a daily record of the tasks you perform.
Your logbook is a great piece of evidence to support all the paperwork related to your Grade Assessment.
Supporting Your Assessment
Although the responsibility of the Grade Assessment process ultimately falls to you, there is a lot of support available from your Assessor who has most likely gone through this process or a similar one themselves, and/or has assessed a candidate before.
Please be completely honest and transparent and, if you do need extra support, it is available. And, of course, MTCS are always on hand to help as well.
If you need any further information or advice, please do not hesitate to get in contact with our Support Team – enquiries@mtcs.info
