MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
- The clinic and doctor who performed your medical evaluation and the date it was performed must be stated. The standard to which you have been evaluated needs to be included too. Most medical certificates are renewed every two years.
Why are they required?
Offshore survival and medical certificates are mandatory requirements for working in the offshore industry as per IMCA Guidelines.
Working in the offshore industry poses many risks and so every individual must undergo and pass a medical examination and survival course, which classifies them as medically fit to work and able to survive if unforeseen circumstances came about.
What information should they include?
For your medical certificate, the standard to which they have evaluated you to should be included.
Both your medical certificate and survival training certificate must be signed and dated clearly by the examiner who conducted each process.
As English is the common language of the global offshore industry, documentation must be submitted in English, or submitted with an English translation.
